Once upon a time, there was a poor woodcutter named Raju who lived in a small village. Every day, he went to the forest to cut wood to sell and earn a living.
Though he didn’t have much, he was happy and honest. One day, while cutting wood by a river, his axe slipped from his hands and fell into the deep water.
Raju was very upset because he had no money to buy a new axe, and without it, he couldn’t work. As he sat sadly by the riverbank, a kind fairy appeared.
“Why are you so sad?” she asked. Raju explained what had happened. The fairy smiled and dove into the water. A moment later, she came up holding a shiny golden axe.
“Is this your axe?” she asked. Raju shook his head. “No, that is not my axe. Mine was a simple iron one.” The fairy went back into the river and returned with a silver axe.
“Is this your axe?” she asked. Again, Raju said, “No, that is not my axe either.” Finally, the fairy returned with his old iron axe. Raju’s face lit up with joy.
“Yes! That is my axe!” he exclaimed. The fairy was pleased with Raju’s honesty. “You are a good and honest man. As a reward, you may keep all three axes—the golden one, the silver one, and your iron one.

#honesty #fairy tale #woodcutter #moral story #happiness
